Spring 2025
Women’s History Month Reading: Wed. March 5, 11 a.m., in McConnell Library, on Radford University campus. “A Reading of Sisters: How Community Inspires and Educates beyond the Classroom” features a women’s writing group as they share their poetry. Join me with Diana Mazor, Piper Durrell, Ruth Derrick, and others as we talk about the power of collaboration.
Appalachian Studies Association Conference: March 20-22 at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee. I’ll be convening a panel on “Academic Kinship: Reviving Appalachian Studies with Interdisciplinary Connection” with Dr. Dan Woods and Tim Thornton. Then I’ll be sprinting to the next session, “A Way to Dance: A Reading and Discussion with Cathryn Hankla and Her Students,” a performance convened by Annie Woodford in honor of one of our favorite creative mentors.
